APRIL 2025
April in the flower field is always a busy time and this year was no exception. We redid all of the irrigation in the annual beds and repaired the irrigation in the perennial beds. We have also moved the location of our compost area and started building bins which will be hidden behind some fabulous smokebush - a new addition to our field this year. More on this next month!
We have had a typical Spring mix of sun and rain which means regular grass cutting has started and we have had a heatwave in the last week of April rendering our new polytunnel a bit too effective!! The seedlings needed VERY regular watering and we have started the process of planting out in bulk. As usual I have sown way too much amaranthus - I think I’m an addict!!
We have flowers blooming now including beautiful peonies, lupins and geum.
